Bullet Journal | December 2019

Recs

Hello and welcome to another peak into my bullet journal. This month I kept it really simple and to the point. I have a ton going on and I didn’t want to get too distracted by all the extra spreads and such. But, I am still in love with how it came out. It puts me in a wonderfully cozy mood.

Before I jump into talking about my monthly set up, I wanted to show you a general spread I added. I was inspired by the youtuber named Samantha Menzo. I can’t remember the particular video it was that I saw, but I ran with the inspiration. With the name Luna, you can only imagine how much I enjoy the moon and its cycles.

Here is my dashboard and month at a glance page. I once again used the artwork from Plant Based Bride, you all must be sick of hearing me talk about her, but she is a wonderful and talented individual. I also started following a youtuber Shayda Campbell and she is very inspiring as well. I really enjoyed the cozy feeling in this artwork instead of being all about the holidays. Don’t get me wrong I love the holidays, but for me there is so much more to the month than that and I would be looking way to forward to it and keep wishing the month away. Speaking of, I still need to decorate!

This month I wanted by habit tracker to focus on things that I need this month or I want to make a priority. I didn’t want to add any fluff. I am tracing if I was active in anyway, if I read, if I slept for 7 hours or more, if I took my vitamins, if i did a bit of tidying, and if I study. I really loved relearning and learning new things I decided that even though my test is over I want to continue to learn. On the right you can see my post tracker, I am trying to get a bit more organized and visuals always work better for me. I also like to track what I need to do when it comes to particular posts. I like setting little bench marks, I feel more productive.

This is my book tracker, I am going to be tracking when I read a book and which book it is. I decided I am not interested in knowing how many pages a day I read. It was just too much data for me and my needs. On the other side you can see another painting of that beautiful cabin on my dashboard page.

Now, I already posted my TBR post, but I was slacking and did not write it down. I will say I am loving adding art throughout my bujo lately instead of just being spreads. It breaks things up nicely and just adds something for me. If you are interested in seeing the books I am planning on reading this month you can see those here: TBR | December 2019

This month I am keeping my weekly spreads the same as last month, this layout is really working for me. As they say, if it an’t broke, don’t fix it

So there is the sneak peak into my bullet journal, I hope you enjoyed it. In the future I would love to add more of my own art and such back into it, but life has been a little all over and I don’t hav a ton of time to draw and paint currently. I hope that changes soon, but in the mean time, I am loving the artist and bullet journalers I have found to help me out.

bene

My dashboard and my calendar and from Plant Based Bride over on youtube. I really loved what she did this month and I thought the quote was wonderful so I printed it out and pasted it right inside.

This month I decided to keep this form of habit tracker, I really enjoyed each habit having its own little home. It felt nice and contained and tracking was really easy. On the right I decided to give something new a try. I have seen many “line a day” spreads all over the internet and I thought it was a really nice reflective tool.

On the left is my To Be Read, I also loved what I did last month with this so I decided to keep it the same. As you can see I am planning on reading American Gods and The Institute next month. Just a little reminder that S means started, r means read, and p means placed in a middle mark or wrap up post.  On the right I am tracking my pages a day again, but since my challenge is over I decided to extend the tracker to 300 pages instead of just 64.

This month I am planning on taking part in the Spookathon that is hosted by Books and Lala over on youtube. I decided to doodle a book per challenge and then place a spooky skull on top. On the right hand side I cut some scrapbooking paper and pasted it down. I felt like it suited this spread.

On the left I am trying something else new, I am going to be tracking my mood via potion bottles. I was inspired by AmandaRachLee on youtube. Depending on your mood is how much you fill up each bottle. I love this idea so much more than the color coded ones. I never enjoy carrying a lot of Bujo stuff around with me on the go. I normally only carry around 1 pen, 1 marker, and a mini ruler. On the right I cut out some more scrapbooking paper I found at Michaels’s craft store.

I decided to keep my weekly spreads just about the same, I only added in the moon cycles this time around since I had the stickers sitting around and I thought it was very fitting. I also put the mini calendar in the top right and I printed out more of Plant Based Brides illustrations to decorate the corners.

This little illustration is a animal skill of some kind, not quite sure, but I really liked the flowers coming out of it.

Here is another printing of the illustration from the dashboard page. I always loved art that has to do with the sun, star, and moon.

Here is a skeleton playing with fire, I really liked this one because it was creepy and I thought this was a good week to put it in because we are so close to Halloween!

The last week is the week of Halloween so I thought the perfect addition would be a witches hat.

Bullet Journal | September 2019

Recs

Hello everyone! Today I am going to be sharing my bullet journal spreads for the month of September. I am so excited and pumped about this month because I am trying more new spreads and I am in love with my theme. This year I went on vacation to Maine and I fell in love with the state, it is so beautiful and wonderful. I decided I wanted to hold on to those memories and feelings by making Septembers theme Maine!

This has not changed, it really works for me to have a little mini calendar for quick reference at the front of the month. I also decided to doodle a lighthouse that I took a picture of when I was in Maine. I have not drawn in a while so excuse the wonkiness, but I love it!

So, this month I decided to try a new type of habit tracker inspired by journalby.amber on instagram. I really liked how simple and clean it looked and it wasn’t a huge rectangle that took up the whole page. I like how each habit has its own little home. On the other page, which is kinda a little peak into something I am giving a go, you will see a page tracker. This was inspired by BooksandLala on youtube a long time ago. The doodles for these two pages are lobster and buoys. I was tempted to color these in, but I decided to leave this month without color, I don’t want to steal someone else’s color! If you didn’t know the color scheme on a buoy is unique to each fisher.

This month I decided to give my TBR a little bit of a makeover inspired by bookshelves and paperbacks. I loved that she had a bit of an area to check off her progress. I edited them a bit to fit my needs more, but I put S- started, R-read, P-placed. All are pretty self explanatory, but placed means that I placed the mini review in my middle mark or wrap up and marked it in my bujo tbr list. This illustration is of a mountainside. The area in Maine I was in a lot of it was made of granite . So the beaches are all rock and have a lot of steep drops. It is really beautiful to see the pink granite everywhere you look.

The last spread I added was 50 miles in September, which was inspired by The Petite Planner on instagram. If you were not aware this summer I did 2 5Ks and really enjoyed myself and I want to keep up being active. So looking through the internet I found this challenge of sorts and I really wanted to do it. I also loved that it had a spot built in to write my way ins. I kinda hate having to flip to more pages than I need to.

This month my weekly spreads are the same as they were in August, the only difference is I added some doodles since I was feeling inspired. I added a hook because fishing is such a staple in Maine, Blueberries because everyone had a famous blueberry pie or blueberry infused food item, a whale because they are everywhere, and lastly a huge pine tree because I loved the trees by where I was staying so much. They were so tall and sturdy.

To Be Read

My Owned TBR | June 2019

BOOKSHELVES

While I am putting the header of Annotating my Bookshelf, I am going to be talking the books I own and have not read as of right writing this. Earlier this month I shared my new bullet journal with you, Bullet Journal | June 2019, but I did not share a particular page. I decided to put my entire owned TBR into my bullet journal and I wanted to share that with you separately.

Divider 2

Above you will see my new Owned TBR layout. I am really happy with how it came out. As you can see I have a little key on the top for started, DNFed/unhauled, and read. You can see that applied to the square to the left of the title. On the right of the title you will see a larger rectangle. I am putting 3 possible symbols there, an A and audiobook available on audible, L for an audiobook available from my library, and an * for if I own the audiobook already. This way I can keep track of books that have audiobooks and such so I can sprinkle them into my reading. I always have an audiobook going since I listen to them in the car and while I am cleaning or doing chores.

One thing I am proud of is that my TBR fits on two pages with a bit of wiggle room. A few years ago my TBR was over 100 easily and I managed to get it down to about 40. My happy place with my TBR is 40 books or less so I am excited. Another plus is that there are no unread books that I have owned for more than a year. Everyone of these books U have owned for 11 months or less in most cases. Not something I was able to say in the past as well.

I am really happy with this spread, but also the books on my Owned TBR. Over the years I have really been able to pinpoint the types of books I really enjoy. A few years ago I was still all over the place and just picking up books that were familiar to me without really reading the descriptions. At this point I can happily and honestly say I want to read all of these books.

Bullet Journal | June 2018

Recs

Hello all, I hope this post finds you on a good day. So this month I decided that I would share my bullet journal. I have had a bullet journal for well over a year, but never really thought to post pictures of it or anything until a fellow blogger Charlotte mentioned that she would be interested in seeing mine. So I decided that for June I would share what I drew for the upcoming month. Without anymore delay here is my bullet journal! DividerHere is my main June page. I always have a doodle on one side and a vertical calendar  on the other. I tend to write when my library books are due or when I have a buddy read section “due”. This month I went with a “future” type theme. This is why throughout my layouts you will see runes, crystal balls, crystals, tarot cards and feathers.

The next layout is my monthly overview where I write the blog posts I plan on writing. Now I don’t stick to this perfectly, but I like having a good idea of what I want to write and any reviews I plan on writing. On the right hand side I doodle a book when I finish one. I took inspiration from BookandLala from Youtube. So far I have read 0 books mainly because I have been very busy, but I hope to turn that around soon. On this page I drew some tarot cards, though not very well.

My TBR page on the left, now if you have seen my post: June TBR | 2018 those books are now written on this page. On the other side I can write all the books I picked up since my last book haul. I will not be adding the books I got from bookcon because I posted a separate haul for that. You can find that here: Book Haul | Bookcon 2018

So this page is just for me to keep track of how many days over the month. As you can see I have updated this already. So while I have been too busy to finish a book, I have been making time to read at least a little bit.

These are my tracker pages. On the left I make a mock letter from the Ministry of Magic saying I am banned from buying too many books. I am currently doing a Read 5 Buy 1 challenge. I have been doing very well on it. I will say It was on hold when I went to bookcon because I wanted to live the bookish life. On the other side I have decided to track the days I do to the gym. My goal is to go about 12 times a month so I am not off track just yet.

Here is a little peak on how I track my reading. I write down the title of the book and then a box is a chapter or a section of a chapter depending on how the book is split up.

Divider

So there you have it my June bullet journal layouts. I hope you enjoyed a little peak into it and let me know if you would like to see what happens to these spreads when the month is all through.
