I still cannot believe I am writing the year 2019, it feels so weird to be thinking we are kinda close to 2020 which used to be put in the titles of so many futuristic and science fiction shows, movies, and such. Anyway, as always I set goals for myself each year and then we see what happens as time progresses. Last year I did not follow through on all my goals, but I am still proud of what I accomplished. This upcoming year I am excited about the things I am going to try to do.
- Read all of the short listed books for the 2018 Man Booker Prize
- Read a book set in each of the 7 continents
- Read 50 books
- Read 30,000 pages
- Read at least one book per month from the library
- Read 12 non-fiction books
- Read a book recommended by someone I look up to
- Read my classic of 2019, War and Peace
- Take part in 2019 Beat the Backlist
- My backlisted books are here.
Bonus Bujo Spread!
There you have it, my 2019 goals. While they are not too over the top I think they are the right amount of challenging and put me out of my element as well as not to over ambitious like I was with the Pop Sugar challenge I tried to do last year.
What are the goals you have for yourself in 2019?

What is yours sitting at? Mine isn’t bad at all, I just want to make a more conscious decision to read what I have before buying more books. I am also doing a read 5, buy 1, which I have been doing on and off for years.

I know, I preordered 2 books so far and mine is currently sitting at 37 I think. I like mine to be around 10-15.

These are some good goals! I don’t think I read too many non-fiction books last year myself, so maybe I’ll incorporate that into my GR challenge? 🤔 I like books about food and cooking, so I’m sure I can find something.
I’m curious to see what book you’ll choose that’s set in Antarctica. 😯

Reading non-fiction can be difficult, you just need to find the type of non-fiction you enjoy. Yeah, Antarctica will be hard, but I found a goodreads shelf to help me. If you want to have a peek I will put it at the end of this comment. Best of luck in 2019!

Cool, thanks! There are some good choices on there and more that I didn’t know went to Antarctica, even though they’re on my tbr.

I know some where a huge surprise to me. Whoever makes these shelves I am thankful to because I would have been very lost.

Goodreads lists can be such a goldmine! I usually only use them for new releases, but I think I’ll be utilizing them more for non-fiction recs this year too.

Happy New Year Luna! And good luck with your goals. I don’t have any specific bookish ones this year, but the one goal I’m aiming to complete is to shop more sustainably!

That is a great one, I started slowly shifting to being less wasteful. It is a process and clothing is very difficult.
